Indulgence asked
during construction
Continued indulgence by stu
dents, faculty, staff and visitors
has been requested by officials
responsible for Texas A&M’s con
struction program.
Several areas of the campus
are affected by construction of
the new Engineering Building,
Oceanography-Meteorology Build
ing, 1,000-student residence hall,
installation of new utility pipes
and work in the Memorial Stu
dent Center-Guion Hall area.
“We sincerely appreciate the
patience and tolerance of every
one for any inconveniences caused
by increased construction activi
ties,” said J. O. Adams, the uni
versity’s facilities planning and
construction director.
“While we all may incur an oc
casional inconvenience as a result
of one or more of these construc
tion projects,” Adams said, “they
are necessary for a growing in
stitution dedicated to providing
top facilities for its students and
faculty.”
He predicted even more bottle
necks before improvements be
come apparent.
“We have a very cooperative
group of contractors who are as
anixous to complete their as
signments as we are to get our
campus back to normal,” Adams
said, “but there is still much
work to be done.”
