Guy Linton was known in show business as the “King of the Strippers.” His wife was bur lesque teacher who took girls from San Antonio’s West Side and gave them names like Bonnie Anne Clyde. Guy and Evelyn Linton, owners of the former Green Gate Club, will tell their story at 8 p.m. A question and answer session fol lows, along with all the free ice cream a person can eat. But along came the New Or leans Southern Baptist preacher Bob Harrington, dubbed “The Chaplain of Bourban Street,” who took his Gospel into the Green Gate and preached about the Pearly Gates. Guy and Evelyn got the mas- sge. They invited Brother Bob to their $150,000 home and on April 4 of this year gave their lives and hearts to Christ. That night they closed the Green Gate. Harrington later brought the place and is opening a Christian bookstore. Guy says he will put his “tainted money” to good use now and Evelyn plans to spear-head a campaign to outlaw stripping. They will give the bare facts Friday, Sept. 4. FOR BEST RESULTS TRY BATTALION CLASSIFIED Construction crews have begun site preparation for Texas A&M University’s 15-story Oceanogra phy-Meteorology Building. Charles E. Brunt, assistant construction manager, said foun dation drilling for the $6.7 mil lion structure will begin as soon as the site layout is completed. Excavation will follow founda tion drillings, Brunt noted. Texas A&M’s first high - rise building will have 121 labs and a 50-ton water tank used in air- sea interaction studies. Sun Oil Company’s North American Exploration and Pro duction Group has awarded Tex as A&M a grant and nine schol arships totaling $4,200. Cecil J. Dearman of Dallas, Sunoco’s exploration and produc tion supervisor of college rela tions, formally presented the funds Tuesday to Gen. A. R. Lue- decke, acting university presi dent, during brief campus cere monies. Dearman was joined in the presentation by Robert Ridgway of Houston, the firm’s region reservoir engineer. The Petroleum Engineering Dt partment received an unrestrifl. ed $600 grant and four scholarships. The Geology u,!
