IN THE STANDS—Aggie pole vaulter Harold McMahan soars over the bar at 14-8 here
Saturday to stay in the midst of the event. Evenually McMahan closed out at 15 feet
to finish third. It was his best effort of the year. Larry McIntyre was awarded a slot
over McMahan at the same height on fewer misses. (Photo by Mike Wright)

Fox: girl. Coyote: boy.
They meet, they mate, and
suddenly responsibility

important word. So it’s a
good thing to plan now—
before foxy and family
make the scene.
One way is by investing

Thinclads Better
Season’s Records
By Mike Wright
Assistant Sports Editor
The Aggie tracksters have not
been sitting around this spring
and admiring their past records.
In most events, the Ags have
bettered their previous marks
each week.
The 440-yard relay team com
posed of Scotty Hendricks, Curtis
Mills, Marvin Mills, Rockie
Woods owns the best mark in that
event with a 40.1 clocking. This
was the first time that this team
had ran due to injuries to team
members. Sam Skinner ran his
best mile last Saturday with a
4:22.3. Donny Rogers owns the
best mark in the 120-yard hurdles
at 14.5. Curtis Mills scooted to a
47.8 in the 440-yard Saturday
for the season’s best time.
Woods and Mlarvin Mills are
tied at the top for the 100-yard
dash. The duo finished in a dead
heat and were both timed at 9.7
seconds Saturday. Willie Black
mon, the first Aggie to finish in
the top three in the 880-yard dash
at the Border Olympics in many
moons, ran a 1:54.1 for his best
this year.
Don Keller owns a 51.8 clock
ing in the 440-yard hurdle from
the opening outdoor meet in Fort
Worth on February 28. Keller
may have come close to bettering
the mark last Saturday as he led
the field coming into the finish,
but lost his stride as he knocked
down the final two hurdles.
Rogers also holds the team rec
ord in the 220-yard dash with a
21.6 rating. Bill Johnson zipped
to a 15:08 in the three-mile run
at the Fort Worth Meet. The
mile-relay team of Harold Mc
Mahan, Marvin Mills, Blackmon,
and Curtis Mills have ran the
distance in 3:13.5 twice, at the
Border and here Saturday. Mar
vin Taylor owns the high jump
mark with a 6-9 leap. Ronnie
Lightfoot owns both the shot and
discuss with 57-5 and 168-2 ^ re
spectively. Marc Black also has
tossed the javelin 211-5 1 /£.
