Photo by Mike Wright) Netters Get Experience By Clifford Broyles Battalion Sports Writer The Texas A&M tennis team returns to its home court Thurs day afternoon to play Texas A&I in an effort to get back on the winning track after a three match road trip to South Texas that produced no wins but a lot of good experience for the Aggie netters. Coach Omar Smith said that the tough road play that the Aggies are facing is good for them and will help prepare them for the conference race. Mike Mills, a freshman from A&M Consolidated, won the only singles match the Aggies man aged in the trip against Pan American. Mills teamed with junior Lind sey Kroll to win one of two doubles victories against Pan American for the Aggies. David Chastain, a sophomore, and fresh man Carl Jaedicke won the other. The Aggies were blitzed 9-0 in the opener of the trip by power ful University of Corpus Christi then came back to play a close match against Pan American but lost 6-3. Trinity University of San An tonio, the team that Coach Smith calls the best in the country, blanked the Aggies 9-0 at San Antonio Monday. “Unless they get hurt by in juries, they should win it all,” Smith said, referring to the NC AA playoffs this year. Following the match with A&I, the Aggies will host the Univer sity of Texas at Arlington Friday afternoon and then go on the road for a match with Lamar Tech at Beaumont Saturday and Louisi ana State University at Baton Rouge Monday.
