and Austin Austin. If Reagan
should defeat Austin, it could ad

a victory next week over Austin
Anderson.

TOP THROWER
Chuck Hixon, tied for the national lead in passing, brings
the top passing attack in the conference to Kyle Field to
morrow at 1:30 p. m. when the SMU Mustangs meet the
Texas Aggies. The 6-2, 192-pound signal caller has hit on
151 of 254 tosses this year.
Thinking about a career after graduation? Who will you work for? Where will you live?
The Dallas Chamber of Commerce invites you to register now for the Dallas Opportunities
Conference (Operation Native Sons) to be held December 29-30 at the Apparel Mart,
2300 Stemmons Freeway.
There you will find more than 100 employers under one roof interested in you and
your future. Many of them do not recruit on your campus. This will be your chance to
see the full range of job opportunities available in Dallas. Job offers will be made on
the spot in many instances. You can register to talk with as many as 14 companies in
one day.
Hitch your wagon to the rising Dallas star. Here’s why — 42 of the top 100 Texas corpo
rations are based in Dallas; 29,400 new jobs were created in Dallas last year; a national
business newsletter predicts Dallas will be the fourth fastest growing area in the nation
during the next 15 years (surpassing any other city in Texas or the South).
Dallas is a young person’s town — geared to the needs and wants of the young profes
sional. It’s nothing to see an under-30 holding a key executive job with a large company
in Big D. And after hours there are swinging night life, lakes and parks, shows, great
shopping, big league sports; and a complete round of activities for the young.
The first step on the road to a successful future in Dallas is to fill out the coupon below
and mail today or see your placement office.

But that’s just a drop in the
bucket because the point fund for
the leading 10 drivers in the Can-
Am series is $200,000 with $50,-
000 for the winner and $35,000
for the runnerup.
Manufacturers of racing prod
ucts have sweetened the pot by
approximately $300,000 for the
tour which has lured record
crowds and produced record
times at most of the 10 other
stops.
In the sport of racing, the driv
er is only as good as his machine
and these cars are out of sight.
They’re full-fendered, two seat-
ers with no limit on the power
plants under the hoods. Some of
these exotic machines can turn
650 horsepower and most of them
are equipped with aerofoil wings
and fuel injection.
Racings fans will see Lolas,
Ferraris, McLarens, McKees,
Porsches—just about every type.
Most can accelerate to 100 miles
per hour in less than ten seconds
and brake to a complete stop on
a postage stamp.
Racing fans will be treated to
some of the best seats anywhere
for the race with 26,000 seats in
the main grandstand, which
stretches for about a half a mile
in front of the start-finish line.
Those brave spectators who
want to be right on top of the
action can watch from the infield,
where there is room for 75,000
spectators and their autos.
The main reason that the Bry-
an-College Station area was chos

was its central location and easy
access by both competitors and
spectators.
Located almost equally distant
from the major cities of Hous

Worth and Austin, the site is ac-
