Two final subdivision plats
were approved and one tabled
Monday night by the College Sta
tion Planning and Zoning Com
mission.
The Southwood plat, located
east of the city’s new school site
and north of the West By-pass,
was approved on the condition
that a drainage easement be add
ed to the east side of the section.
Another condition was that the
street running through the sub
division be named Guadalupe
Street.
The commission also approved
a plat of the Glade East Sub
division. The subdivision is lo
cated south of Holleman Drive
and east of Glade Street. The only
condition for approval of the
Glade East plat is that a utility
easement be changed to a drain
age easement on the final plan.
The easement is located on the
east side of the subdivision.
The University Oaks Subdivi
sion plat was tabled. The question
of dedicating the extension of
Dominik Street to Munson Ave
nue, which is not owned by the
developer, will be referred to the
city attorney.

Forum of Environmental
Studies, an organization of archi

resentatives Monday night to the
1969 Forum in Houston, according
to Laura Sorenson, sophomore
representative.
Conducted by the Association
of Student Chapters of the Amer
ican Institute of Architects, the
forum will be at Rice University
Nov. 23-26 and is co-sponsored
by the University of Houston,
she said. The forum will feature
prominent speakers and work
shops.
Tom March, Tommy Ellis, Jean
Mah and Joe Flores are the
official representatives, she said,
adding that any member of the
club can attend the forum.
About 50 club members, she
said, recently returned from the
Texas Society of Architects’ Con
vention in Houston. A&M will be
an organizer of next year's con
vention in Fort Worth, she said.
The club will sponsor the “Ren
aissance Tomb Boom” Saturday
night after the SMU game and
is also bringing Roscoe Jones,
urban city planner from Houston,
to the campus Nov. 17, she said.
Officers of the group are
Flores, president; Randy Sher
man, vice president; Bill Voight,
treasurer; and Mah, secretary.
The president was one of four
architect students in the nation
selected to take part in the AIA
task force on social responsibility
meeting, she said.
