Lancaster carries the financial responsibility on his rangy, 6-3 frame in cheerful fashion and is admired for his calmness. The business manager is prac tical too, especially in his ap proach to dealing with students given financial responsibility for the various MSC programs. ’I other Planes j s h Lo\Vy NG 11 since Chipfc ROOM F ome vn k Y l Ends of the multi-faceted pro- “I’ve never seen him lose his cool,” remarked one undergrad uate. “When a student has to deal with his own peers in taking re sponsibility for financial matter's, he learns a lot,” the College Sta tion native observed. “Learning to be responsible for someone else’s money will stand him in good stead the rest of his life. No matter where he goes, he’ll be doing this.” It’s amazing how well some students do it and how poorly others accept the responsibility, the Center official added. Overall, Lancaster says, they are sharper. “The ability to han dle financial matters is part of it,” he said. A 1950 A&M graduate in busi ness, Lancaster has been with the university since 1954. After three years in a job with the National Guard, he joined the business section of the Texas Engineering Experiment Station. The business manager went to St. Louis in 1956 as a coin-oper ated laundry business manager. He returned in 1958, to work for the Agricultural Experiment Sta tion and joined the MSC staff in 1963. “Working for Wayne Stark is demanding but rewarding,” Lan caster commented. “He is held in high esteem throughout na tional college union circles.” Fort Worth Aggies will pre sent a full one-year athletic scholarship to Texas A&M head coach Gene Stallings during a “Football Rally” Aug. 20 at Ridglea Country Club, announced Fort Worth Texas A&M Club President John Caple. Coach Stallings will attend to accept the grant-in-aid, Caple stated. The Fort Worth Athletic Scholarship will be financed by the sale of donation tickets.
