The two were arrested Monday night by Campus Se curity officers in their dorm rooms, where several stolen items were recovered, reported Campus Security Chief Ed Powell. The chief indicated several of the items were stolen in Bryan - College Station. Sev eral items were also found in the youths’ cars, he added. By TONY HUDDLESTON Campus Security officers are searching for clues in the theft of $196 from the A&iM Library Sunday night, one of a rash of weekend offenses currently under investigation. Chief of Campus Security Ed Powell said that the thieves, who apparently hid in the library un til it closed, took $96.46 from a small safe in a first floor office, and approximately $100 from four vending machines. Powell also reported that offi cers had arrested two A&M stu dents in the Mechanical Engi neering building at approximately 3:30 a.m. Thursday and charged them with burglary. “BOTH students had in their possession several keys to build ings on campus, including a master key to the Teague Build ing,” Powell added. “They both admitted that the reason they were in the building was to search for examination papers.” Powell said that the students were apprehended after a stu dent saw someone climbing through a window of the M.E. Building, and called campus security. The two students, now being held in the Brazos County Jail, were identified as Pedro Gon zales, a junior industrial engi neering major from Matamoros, Mexico, and Louis Martinez, a junior economics major from Rosita, Mexico. Powell also noted that two students had been arrested early Monday morning near Wofford Cain Swimming Pool. He said that charges of carrying a pro hibited weapon and running a stop sign had been filed in Jus tice of Peace A. P. Boyett’s court against John S. Ford, sophomore physics major from Corpus Christi. Officers said they con fiscated a loaded .45 caliber pis tol from the car driven by Ford.
