THE BATTALION
Ag Nine Hosts
Longhorns In
Season Finale
The final series of the South
west Conference baseball race
was scheduled to begin this aft
ernoon on Kyle Field with the
Aggies hosting Texas.
The first game of this after
noon’s doubleheader was set to
begin at 1:30 with the second
game to follow immediately.
The Aggies were to pitch Dave
Benesh against James Street in
the first game and come back
with Doug Rau against Burt
Hooten in the nightcap.
If rain forced cancelation of
the series this weekend the games
would be rescheduled for Mon
day and Tuesday provided the
Longhorns had not already made
the trip to College Station.
Coach Tom Chandler has
named freshman Charles Kelley
to pitch for A&M in Saturday’s
single game against the Steers’
Larry Hardy.
It has been a disappointing
season for the Aggies as they
limped to a 6-7 SWC and 15-9
season mark going into this
weekend’s action.
Texas has already clinched the
SWC championship with a 13-1
record and are 24-3 for the year
to rank second in the nation be
hind the University of Southern
California.

Aggies Vie Saturday
In FW Track Meet
Curtis Mills, the phenomenal
Aggie sophomore, will lead the
A&M track team Saturday as it
invades Farrington Stadium in
Fort Worth for a quadrangular
meet with host Texas Christian,
Arkansas and Rice.
Mills logged a 46.2 last week
end in his 440-yard dash special
ty, which broke the meet record
at the Drake Relays in Des
Moines, Iowa.
Rockie Woods, a sprinter de
luxe, who has run 9.4 in the
100-yard dash several times this
year, is expected to finish high
in his event. He will also anchor
the Aggie 440 relay unit.
This meet is expected to be a
good warmup to the Southwest
Conference Meet which begins
Friday and Saturday, May 9 and
10 in Waco.
SENIORS
In 1965, we first offered graduating Aggies the
popular plan of 100% financing at bank rates and other
unique features. Now, for the first time by any dealer,
we offer car leasing at even lower monthly rates than
car payments.

YOUR GHEVROLET DEALER
We’ve expanded. We’re now a Chevway/Chevrolet
dealer. Which means, we offer you a total transporta
tion center —for buying, leasing or renting.
Leasing isn’t a mystery, when you walk into our
familiar Chevy showroom. You can check out the new
Chevrolets right on the floor. And, we’ll help analyze
leasing vs. buying —and which is right for you.
Should you lease? Ask your Chevway/Chevrolet
dealer —now we have more than one way to put you
into a new Chevrolet.

American Bible Society
He marvels at the majesty of the clouds and the vastness
of the sky. He thrills at the reflections cast upon the water
by the rainbow palette of the setting sun. He is awed, hum
bled— yet, at the same time, fiercely proud.
His feelings contradict each other. For he knows he is a
small creature dwarfed by the overpowering glory of na
ture, yet, at the same time, a man — a man created in the
image of God.
Of course, we all need to be humble, but we also need
to be proud. In one sense we are insignificant, and in an
other we are all-important. The problem lies in finding the
proper balance between the two.
To understand the whole man — the all of you, you must
turn to His Church where God is forever revealing the mys
teries of His universe. Here we are taught truths that have
endured throughout the ages. Here we must come if we are
to find the proper balance in life.
