Main 822-6000 the eternal peace of Dwight Da vid Eisenhower, warrior and president. The majesty of state funeral, and the simpler tribute of Amer icans who had filed past the flag-draped coffin, offered a na tion’s farewell to the 34th presi dent of the United States. Ahead lies the long journey in an aged railroad baggage car halfway across the nation to Ei senhower’s burial on the Kansas prairie of his boyhood. One among the invited was missing: Milton S. Eisenhower, 68, youngest brother of the late president, taken ill three hours before the service. Mrs. Eisenhower, veiled in black, averted her gaze as mili tary pallbearers carried the sol dier’s coffin to a bier at the foot of the altar. President Nixon and his fami ly were among the mourners for his former chief. President Charles de Gaulle sat erect, in uniform at the rites for the man who directed the liberation of France during World War II. The premiers of Germany and of Italy, the foes of the allies in that conflict, were there. So were Belgium’s King Bau- douin, Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi of Iran, Prince George of Denmark, dozens of others from abroad. Finally, the congregation rose to sing “Onward Christian Sol diers,” and the funeral was at an end. Some other functions planned are to organize rides to A&M activities, provide Aggie sweat shirts, decals, stickers, and etc., and to build a dating service for those interested, she added. The Gig ’Em Club will act as an agent in setting up rides for TWU students going to A&M. “Our goal is to have one place for them to call when in need of a ride or rider,” Miss Trussell commented. The dating service is still in the planning stages. Applica tions for dates will be provided at A&M and TWU. The dating service aim is to arrange dates for special occa sions such as football weekends or special events on either cam pus. The death of Wesley David son, 20, set off violence over the weekend at the Negro college. Between 20 and 50 students burned three buildings, set fire to a fourth and damaged a cam pus dining hall. Davidson was stabbed in the back and stomach. Dr. Alvin I. Thomas, college president, said most of the dem onstrators were athletes. David son had been a football player. Thomas estimated damage at the school at less than $10,000. He said a feud between the athletes and a campus veterans organization had been brewing about a month. Earlier, Thompson told police he was beaten March 18 by a group of athletes, but refused to file charges.
