The university revealed estab lishment of the Arthur George and Mary Emolene Owen Trust Fund following Dr. Owen’s death Saturday. Dorsey McCrory, development director, said the trust, which in cludes stocks, bonds and real estate, will be used to establish the university’s first privately- endowed academic chair, in math ematics. Income from the trust, how ever, is reserved for life for Mrs. Owen, McCrory noted. Set-ups Available College Station’s United Chest fund-raising drive has attained almost 85 per cent of its $27,500 goal, announced Campaign Chair man Edwin H. Fenner. Fenner said contributions cur rently total $22,440, or 82 per cent of the goal. He noted, how ever, the tabulations exclude some Business Division funds which have been ‘Collected but not yet turned in. “We consider this to be a pretty good response,” remarked Fenner, assistant director of the Engi neering Experiment Station here. “Since, however, we have not quite reached our goal,” he con tinued, “we would appreciate any last-minute efforts on the part of campaign workers and indi viduals who might not have had an opportunity to contribute.” Funds obtained in the United Chest campaign will help sup port 16 civic and charitable agen cies.
