New Air Force Assignments
Received ByA&M Graduates
Four Texas A&M graduates
have received new Air Force as
signments.
Two of the officers, Capt.
Clayton B. Lyle III of Dallas and
2nd Lt. Charles F. Offholter of
San Antonio, recently received
their wings. Second Lt. Terence
L. Casteel of Waco has been as
signed at Reese AFB, Texas for
flight training.
Capt. Alton F. Fischer of New
Braunfels arrived at Tinker AFB,
Okla., from Thailand for duty as
a communications - electronics
staff officer.
Custodial Awards Given Six
Efficiency awards have been
presented to six Texas A&M cus
todial workers by President Earl
Rudder.
Lyle will be a Tactical Air
Command pilot at McConnell
AFB, Kan., and Offholter will
remain at Mather AFB, Calif.,
for navigator-bombardier train
ing.
EFFICIENCY AWARDS
Texas A&M President Earl Rudder presented efficiency
awards at the university custodial workers’ quarterly meet
ing- to (from left) Mrs. Beatrice Johnson, Alvin Jefferson,
Mrs. Rose L. Washington, Mrs. Verna Carroll, Dennis Wat
son and Berry Lester. Each recipient was selected a “Cus
todial Worker of the Month” during the March-May period.
The awards, in recognition of
selection as “Custodial Worker
of the Month,” went to Dennis
Watson and Mrs. Verna Carroll
for May, Alvin Jefferson and
Mrs. Beatrice Johnson for April
and Berry Lester and Mrs. Rose
L. Washington for March.
Mrs. Washington, six, and Jef
ferson and Mrs. Johnson, three
each.
President Rudder assured the
custodial workers they are on the
team that is working toward ex
cellence throughout the univer
sity.
He said he had been told
numerous visitors that A&M hjj
