Worth.
Seventeen charges have been
leveled against the Aggie football
program by five SWC schools.
The weekend conference will fin
ish its deliberations Saturday
morning with a report to the
press of its actions.
On the agenda for today is a
meeting between the athletic di
rectors and the business mana
gers.
In Thursday’s opening session
the school’s athletic directors and
football coaches recommended
that the SWC two-visit, no con
tact rule before a boy’s high
school football eligibility is over
be continued.
The suggestion is in line with
a proposal by Texas high schools
prohibiting outsiders like Okla
homa, Oklahoma State, Lousiiana
State and Houston from contact
ing the boys before the season is
over and making unlimited visits.
The SWC had previously talked
of doing away with its rule if
the outsiders don’t meet the pro
visions.

Also suggested was that the
conference adopt the NCAA rule
regarding the start of football
practice. The rule entitles each
team to 29 practice sessions be
fore the third Saturday in Sep
tember and also provides that the
first three days of practice be
devoted to conditioning drills
without football equipment.
A no-limit policy of basketball
scholarships and the awarding of
SWC radio rights to the Humble
Oil and Refining Co. for the 35th
straight year were also recom
mended.
