A&M Consol 9 s Watson Picked
Class AAA All-Schoolboy Basketballers Are Announced

Clear Creek didn’t make it to
the state tournament but it still
boasted the two top players of
Class AAA schoolboy basketball.

the honor team’s third squad.

the district championship for the

Houston State next year on a
basketball scholarship, hit on 60
percent of his field shots in dis
trict play.
One of the top two from Clear
Creek was a name that has be
come most familiar in the past
decade—Scooter Lenox. He is
the fourth straight Lenox to
make it big from Clear Creek.
Before him were Bennie, Curley
and Jimmie Dale.
Richard Huhn was the other
Clear Creek player to crack the
all-state Class AAA team and
he also was the leading vote get
ter. He had 52 points, just one
more than Lenox in the ballot
ing of the Texas Sports Writers

tonio Wheatley, Tres Blanken-
beckler of Waxahachie and Riley
Odoms of West Oso were the
others on the all-state first team.
All are seniors.
Odoms had the top scoring av
erage with 25.1 per game. Len
ox was next with 25.0 while Huhn
averaged 22.0, Blankenbeckler
24.6 and Braggs 18.1.
Huhn is a repeated from 1967.
Blankenbeckler advanced from
second team to first as did Len
ox.

South San Antonio, Mike Dukes
of Levelland and Robert Thread-
gill of New Braunfels.
