Aggie - Bear Waco Showdown On TV Saturdaj
By GARY SHERER
Waco’s Heart-O-Texas Coliseum
should be packed to the rafters
tomorrow afternoon when the Ag-

At Westingnouse, there are unlimited possibilities to contribute to modern
civilization. In ocean sciences, defense and space, atomic energy, transporta
tion, computer sciences, water desalting, international projects, power sys
tems, microelectronics ... and much more.
Only a few companies in the whole world are involved in all the physical
sciences. Westinghouse is one of them. Don’t sell yourself short. Get the

An equal opportunity employer
gie basketballers have a show
down match with the Southwest
Conference-leading Baylor Bears.
A four-way tie (all teams 5-4)
for second place will probably be
broken but it still could last into
next week because none of the
deadlocked teams play each other.
IN ADDITION to the Aggies-
Bears 1:15 p.m. TV match, the
other three teams, Texas Chris
tian, Arkansas and Texas will
meet Texas Tech, Southern Meth
odist and Rice respectively. The
lone nightgame will be the Owl-
Longhorn match at Houston.
The game will mark the Aggies
first game on regional TV this
season. Baylor (7-2 in the SWC)
has been on once before this sea
son, their first loss of the year
with TCU at Fort Worth.
In fact, the Bears’ two losses
have come in games played away
from Waco. The second loss was
Tuesday night in a 79-65 setback
to Texas at Austin. Their one win
on the road was the first game
against the Aggies on Feb. 3.
BAYLOR COACH Bill Menefee
said yesterday that he was happy
to be playing the game at Waco.
He called the Aggies the hotest
team in the SWC at the present
time.
Menefee’s Bears are leading the
conference although they have
lacked a man in the top ten sea
son scorers for most of the year.
Russell Kibbe, 6-3 forward should
crash that barrier soon as he
presently is fourth in SWC con
ference scoring.
Kibbe, senior from Dallas was
the top scorer for the Bears in
the two club’s first meeting. He
hit for 22, with his 12 for 14 from
the free throw line (he’s second
in the league) doing the biggest
damage.
TOMMY BOWMAN, 6-4 for
ward from Athens who leaps like
he was 6-8 or more, has been the
Bears top rebounder both in con
ference and season games.
The other consistent Bear scor
er, 6-5 center David Sibley, also
had a good night against the Ag
gies two weeks ago.
One Bear starter probably
won’t be able to play. Menefee
announced yesterday that Ed
Thorpe, senior JC transfer from
Stockton, Calif., is ailing from a
bad ankle.
The Aggies of Shelby Metcalf
own a three-game winning streak
with Texas and Rice (twice) the
victims. In this span have come
a SWC scoring record and a 20-
point win over Rice. The Owls

Why should you
confide in a guy
you’ve never met
before?
Because the guy we’re talking
about is a college recruiter from
Alcoa. And the only way to play it
is honestly.
He’ll be on campus in a couple of
days. And here’s what we recom
mend you do at the interview.
First, lay your cards on the table.
Tell him what kind of work would
really turn you on.
Then, sit back and listen while he
explains how your plans figure
into Alcoa’s plans. (You’ll be
surprised how versatile
Aluminum Company of America
can be.)
So make it a point to meet Alcoa’s
recruiter. He’s a confidence man
you can really trust.
