Swimming Coach Art Adamson,
starting his 33rd year as coach,
predicted a strong finish for his
team this year.
He said he was “going to have
a better team than we had last
year.”
“We batted .500 last year and
hope to manage .750 winning
average this year,” he remarked.
In summing up his Southwest
Conference opponents, Adamson
said, “SMU and Texas appear to
be the toughest.” Evary South
west Conference school has a
swim team except Baylor.
The nucleus of the team is
largely juniors: Bob Dommel,
sprinter, “Ropo” Beltram, back-
stroke and distance, Colin Dunn,
butterfly and backstroke, John
Wood, distance freestyle, and
Mike Pettit, breaststroke.
Other leading team members
