ON THt
AVENUE
Every fall when the leaves turn red, I pay a visit
to New York City. There’s magic there for me. A pulse
of excitement rides the autumn air and no matter what
I’m doing, riding the bus on the avenue or browsing
in a bookstore, I’m invigorated.
I see exciting plays, visit art galleries and indulge
in my love for museums. Shopping in large department
stores intrigues my woman’s heart. Each year I save
some time to sit on a bench and watch the people go by.
I return home refreshed for another year—deter
mined to work harder at my typewriter and improve
my work. I am inspired to perfect my craft.
Church-going does the same thing for my inner life.
An hour of meditation and worship sends me home with
a fresh outlook and a firm resolve to reflect God’s love
more clearly in the coming week. I am inspired to per
fect my life.
Your church is the key to a full life.
THE CHURCH FOR ALL . . .
... ALL FOR THE CHURCH
The Church is the greatest
factor on earth for the building
of character and good citizen
ship. It is a storehouse of spirit
ual values. Without a strong
Church, neither democracy nor
civilization can survive. There
are four sound reasons why
every person should attend ser
vices regularly and support the
Church. They are: (1) For his
own sake. (2) For his children's
sake. (3) For the sake of his
community and nation. (4) For
the sake of the Church itself,
which needs his moral and ma
terial support. Plan to go to
church regularly and read your
Bible daily.
