THE BATTALION Tuesday, October 24, 1967 College Station, Texas Page 5 Aggies ‘Take’ Fort Worth The 1967 Corps Trip to Fort Worth might well have been called the Aggie Weekend. Fort Worth was characterized by overflowing motel and hotel rooms and homes opened to Ag gies by relatives. Many an Ag gie will remember the hard floor of a motel or home long after the “saddle sores” have gone away. Friday afternoon, the advance units swarmed over the campus of Texas Woman’s University in Denton to start the wild week end. A few hours later, when the dances honoring the Aggies be gan, it became manifestly clear that the latecomers were at a dis advantage. Even though the Corps Staff was a few blocks ahead of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band most of the way, the parade went off rather smoothly. The parade and parties were only a part of the weekend in Fort Worth—the Aggies came through again and won over TCU by a score of 20-0. Thus killing part of another old saying from Aggieland, “We got outscored, but we beat the hell out of the parties.” Sunday, several thousand glum Aggies were reminded of another old saying as they passed high way markers on the way home: “Highway 6 runs both ways.” But just as important as what happened over the weekend was what didn’t happen for the first weekend of the 1967 fall semes ter, Silver Taps were not played on Monday night. - v , r p : % ^ «■>.' ^ ■ » ’ - ■ . - mwmmm n m . r . ; U' • o V . < . : , ! vy ■» , s' SX-VJSVS . < . y" ^ ' s '-' x " > s - ~WX. ...... , * i 1 f W « The Agg-ie football team takes time just before the game with TCU to inspect the playing field at Amon G.
