Aggie-Ex Basketball Player Joins Texas Coaching Staff
Bennie Lenox, a 1964 graduate
of Texas A&M and basketball star
for the Aggies, joined the Univer
sity of Texas athletic staff Tues
day as an assistant coach in bas
ketball and baseball.
He will be the freshman basket
ball coach and will be the chief
scout and recruiter for basketball.
Lenox is a graduate of Clear
Creek High school where he was
an all-state twice in basketball.
He was also an all-district player
in baseball.
At A&M Lenox was the spark
plug on the Aggie basketball team
in 1964 when the Aggies went 18-
7 for the season and won the SWC
championship with a mark of 13
wins and only 1 loss.
While at A&M Lenox scored
43 points in a single game against
Texas, his new employer, and still
holds the SWC single game scor
ing record of 53 points, set in
1963 in a game against Wyo
ming.
