Ags Make Squad
Two Aggies were consensus
choices for all-Southwest Confer-
ference honors in 1966, and a
third—halfback Wendell Housley
—narrowly missed.
Junior tackle Maurice Moorman
and senior guard Gary Kovar
made the squad.
The consensus squad came from
the teams published by The Asso
ciated Press, United Press Inter
national, Oallas Morning News
and Dallas Times-Herald news
papers.

Final Aggie Year
Six senior Aggie football players will wear the maroon
and white for the last time this year. They are Mark
Weaver, Maurce Moorman, Grady Allen, Robert Cortez,
Bill Sallee, and Dan Schneider.
Mark Weaver, of Victoria was an all-state end at
Victoria High School. He also played center and forward
on the basketball team there. Weaver won a freshman
numeral at A&M and his first varsity letter last season
as a junior tackle. He split his time between tackle and end
during spring training. He is a physical education and
biology major at A&M. Weaver plans to be a coach.
Maurice (Mo) Moorman, of Louisville, Kentucky, was
an all-state, all-America tackle at St. Xavier High. Moor
man played freshman football at the University of Ken
tucky, and transferred to A&M in the summer of 1965.
He played his first varsity season at A&M last year and
won All-Southwest Conference and All-America honors at
offensive tackle. Moorman moved to offensive guard in
spring training. He is a management major and plans
to play professional football.
Grady Allen, of Nacogodoches, was an all-distrct end
at Nacogdoches High, and also was all-district in baseball
and basketball. He won a varsity letter as a sophomore
at defensive end, but missed four games due to an injury.
He played last year at defensive end. He is majoring in
finance.
Robert Cortez
Robert Cortez, of San Benito, was all-district, all-valley
and honorable mention all-state linebacker-fullback at San
Benito High. He also played basketball and ran track.
Cortez earned two varsity letters at linebacker for the
Aggies. He had ankle trouble last season. Cortez is a
physical education major who plans to go into coaching
after graduation.
Bill Sallee
Bill Sallee, of Midland, was a halfback-fullback at
Midland High. He won his first varsity letter as a sopho
more running tailback. He ran both tailback and fullback
last year, but missed part of the season due to an injury.
Sallee ran fullback during spring training. He is majoring
in finance.
Dan Schneider, of Trafford, Pennsylvania, was an all
conference fullback for Trafford High. He also played
golf and basketball. Schneider was starting fullback for
the Aggies as a sophomore, but then sidelined with injuries
most of last season. He was moved to weak tackle during
spring training. Schneider is majoring in physical educa
tion and biology and plans to coach.
