MSC To Add
Color Printing
To Darkroom
The Memorial Student Center
Camera Committee adds color
capability to its bardroom layout
next month, announced President
Ken Reese.
The color photo printing equip
ment, capable of producing prints
up to 11 by 14 inches in size, will
be installed in Darkroom D on
the third floor of the MSC. The
committee utilizes four six-by-six
foot rooms for black-and-white
photo printing, one of which will
be converted to color.
Major items in the $750 color
setup is a Kodak color processor,
Omega D2V enlarger and voltage
regulator. Reese said the equip
ment, purchased on bid from
Southwest Camera of Houston,
will arive in mid-January and be
in operation by Feb. 13.
Odin Clay, color consultant of
Southwest Camera, will instruct
committee members in use of the
color equipment in a February
meeting. Clay was a judge for
the 1966 Southwest Intercollegiate
Photo Salon sponsored by the
committee. i
MSC maintenance personnel
will install plumbing for the pro
cessor, Reese said.
He noted that the three B&W
darkrooms will be equipped with
new equipment, including focusing
enlargers, tanks and trays.
The camera committee meets on
the second and fourth Mondays
each month. Only a Jan. 9 meet
ing is scheduled this month.
Consultant Gives
Lecture Monday
Cuthbert Daniel, a leading con
sultant in application of statis
tical methods to industrial prob
lems, will give a Graduate Col
lege Lecture Monday at Texas
A&M University.
“The Fitting of Equations for
Industrial Data” is the topic of
Daniel’s 4 p.m. presentation in the
School of Architecture Audito
rium..
Daniel earned a master’s de
gree in chemical engineering at
MIT and did additional graduate
work at Harvard and Berlin uni
versities. He taught chemical
engineering for several years be
fore becoming a private consul
tant.
For his work in design of ex
periments and multiple factor
problems, where he made notable
contributions to theory and prac
tice of fractional factorial exper
iments, Daniel was elected a Fel
low of the American Statistical
Association, the Institute of Math
ematical Statistics, and the Amer
ican Association for Advancement
of Science.
At A&M, Daniel also will make
a series of seminar lectures Jan.
10-13 in Animal Industries and
Plant Sciences. He will be hon
ored at an informal coffee at
10:30 a.m. Wednesday in room 102
of the Data Processing-Statistics
Building.
