Osoba and Rich ard A. Morse have been named to the Petroleum Engineering staff at Texas A&M University. Dr. Robert L. Whiting, Petro leum Engineering Department head, said Dr. Osoba has been appointed to a professor’s rank. Morse is a lecturer. Dr. Osoba earned the B.S. in physics from the University of Texas and the Ph.D. from Wash ington University, St. Louis, Mo. He has 17 years drilling and pro duction experience with Humble Oil and Refining Company’s Re search Division and is an inter national authority on well log ging and formation evaluation. Morse comes to A&M from Venezuela, where he was mana ger of the Eastern Division for Mene Grande Oil Company. He has worked for several oil com panies in exploration and produc tion research and is an authority on petroleum reservoir engineer ing. He has a B.S. degree in pe troleum engineering from the University of Oklahoma and a M.S. from Pennsylvania State. Dr. Osoba has taught in aca demic institutions, in the mili tary and industry. He was a lieu tenant commander in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
