WALLED-UP TREASURE
LOVELL, Wyo. <A>) — Ferrell
Mangus recently purchased an
old house for rental property.
He started to remodel the old
house and found about $1,000 in
silver dollars and other assorted
coins plastered in the walls of
the kitchen.
Mangus said the coins were
mostly dated between 1921 and
1923.
The house had been moved
from nearby Kane, Wyo., to
Lovell about 18 years ago by a
sheepherder.
College of Engineering To Start
Educational Television This Fall
Educational television will
spread to the College of Engi
neering this fall.
Four Department of Engineer
ing Graphics classrooms have
been equipped with television
units.
“We can seat 170 students in
engineering graphics class
rooms,” said Dr. James Earle,
associate professor of' engineer
ing graphics.
“The installation of educational
television permits us to bring
new material into the classroom.
Experiments and shop processes
can be shown without the neces
sity of field trips,” he pointed
out.
Earle emphasized the addition
of television is not to replace
teachers, but to strengthen their
capabilities. Tapes, films and live
coverage will be used in class
rooms.
Some of the programs will
originate in the Engineering
Building, others at the Educa
tional TV Center, headed by Dr.
Lee J. Martin.
