THE BATTALION Page 4 College Station, Texas Thursday, September 22, 1966 Federal Test Applications Due Oct. 19 Applications for the Federal service management internship test to be administered Nov. 19 must be filed by Oct. 19, Place ment Director Wendell R. Horsley has announced. Leading to junior executive positions in the federal govern ment, internship examination passage qualifies candidates for special training. Most manage ment intern positions are in the Washington, D. C., metropolitan area with other opportunities available in various parts of the country. A general test of verbal abili ties and quantitative reasoning requiring 2% hours will be ad ministered in the Placement Of fice, followed by a two-hour in tern exam on administrative problems and public affairs. Test prerequisites require completion or expected completion within nine months of a four-year course leading to a bachelor degree. Candidates passing the written test in November will be inter viewed during the week of Feb ruary 13, 1967. Candidates for management intern will take the additional test Jan. 18, 1967. A part of the Federal Service Entrance Examination, the in ternship test may qualify candi dates for a wide variety of Fed eral agencies in geographical lo cations. Over 200 kinds of posi tions are filled through the ex amination. It is, in effect, one application to many employers at I the same time. Several thousand appointments are made each year with a limited number of over seas positions also filled. Many kinds of training pro grams are conducted by Federal agencies to help their employees 1 develop themselves. Among these programs are such career posi tions as personal management, general administration, economics and other social sciences, social security administration, and man agement analysis. Many other positions are avail- ■ * able through The Federal Service Entrance Examination (FSEE) bulletin. Other dates for applica tion and examination are also shown in the bulletin, available at the Placement Office in the YMCA.
