THE BATTALION College Station, Texas Page 6 Thursday, May 19, 1966 Management Seminar Draws 31 Executives The first of two management seminars sponsored by the School of Business Administration is scheduled for Sunday through May 28 at the Ramada Inn. “The primary objective of this training is to help managers be come more effective in their pres ent jobs and to show them how they can develop their abilities for advancement into positions of greater responsibility,” Dr. John E. Pearson, director of the school, said. Small group discussions, case studies and lecture-discussions will combine to form a teaching learning program with over three-fourths of the time devoted to discussion and interchange of ideas and experiences. Areas to be covered include communications, delegation, em ployee motivation, organizing, de velopment of subordinates, use of policies and converting goals into action. Featured speakers include D. B. Campbell, manager, plastic de partment, Sabine River Works; J. P. Abbott, professor of En glish; William Oncken Jr., senior partner, Oncken, Haydrick and Company, consultants to man agement, New York City; Ed ward J. Green, president, Edward J. Green Associates, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Dr. Robert J. Potts, regional medical director, Mobil Oil Com pany, Dallas. Also J. W. Miller, vice presi dent, Employers Casualty Com pany, Dallas; L. D. Water Color Works Now On Display Water color paintings by art ists of 12 Texas cities and Mil waukee, Wis. are on display in the Memorial Student Center. The 24 prints came from the 126-painting 17th Texas Water Color Society exhibition at the Witte Memorial Museum in San Antonio. “The show may be seen in first floor and Serpentine Lounge areas of the MSC through May 30,” announced David Gay of the Contemporary Arts Committee. The MSC Directorate cosponsors the $4,000 show. Artist, teacher, author, musi cian Leonard Brooks judged the exhibition of which the MSC dis play is representative. Twelve award winners are included. Painters from Dallas, Corpus Christi, Austin, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Lubbock, Cuero, Waco, Castroville, Kingsville, Portland and Navasota have works in the circuit exhibit.
