UMP GIVES DIRECTIONS
Plate umpire Howard Sharr directs Texas Aggie coach Tom
Chandler out of the playing field Tuesday afternoon in
Austin. Despite Chandler’s absence from the field during
the last three innings, the Aggies edged Texas, 8-6, to f
sweep the two-game series and gain a share of the South
west Conference title.

Aggie Lance Cobb relays to first to complete a double play
which killed a Texas rally in the fifth inning. Longhorn
Ray Dulak slides into Cobb but too late. Aggie coach Tom
Chandler thought the play was the game’s turning point
because it kept Texas from scoring.

Neil Thompson is dwarfed by the Clark Field cliff which
has caused many disputes throughout the years, but Long

because Texas will move to a new ball park next year.

Intramural softball playoffs in
Classes A, B and C began Mon
day. Companies G-l, F-2, A-l
and Sq-2, Sq-9 and Sq-1 are the
teams participating in the play
offs.
In Class B competition, teams
