An eight-year veteran of pro fessional football, Pardee re signed as tutor to Aggie line backers and defensive backs on Head Coach Gene Stallings’ year- old staff. “He felt it was to his financial advantage,” commented Stallings, “if he played another three or four years. They way they’re paying for rookies these days, they ought to pay well for a re turning veteran.” Pardee’s contract terms are unknown, but it is known that his return fulfills a vow which new Coach George Allen made when he took over the Rams. Pardee anchored the Ram defense, gain ing all-pro recognition in 1963. He played football, basketball, baseball and track at Christoval High School and made all-state in six-man football. He played three seasons at A&M and was an all- America linebacker in 1956. Pardee also participated in the 1956 Blue-Gray game and the 1957 Senior Bowl and College All-Star games following college. As a professional footballer, he played on the West squad in the 1964 NFL Pro-Bowl game. Announced at the same time but in no way related, is the fact that all-pro flanker Bobby Joe Conrad of the St. Louis Cardinals will help coach the Aggies in spring training.
