You’ll find Dallas in Dallas County, El Paso in El Paso Coun ty, Lubbock in Lubbock County, Nacogdoches in Nacogdoches County. But that doesn’t prove a thing. And Jefferson, the town, should be in Jefferson, the county. Actually, it’s a good 200 miles north of Jefferson County, in Marion County. Jefferson County does include the community of Sabine, but Sabine County is about 75 miles away. Sabine County, on the other hand, is the site of a town named Milam—but Milam County is a far piece west in central Texas. Cameron is the county seat of the county—Milam County, that is, not Cameron County. Browns ville is the county seat of Cam eron County and Brown County is hundreds of miles north in west central Texas. Oddly enough Brownwood is its county seat. PHYSICS HEAD GOES AIRBORNE Dr. J. G. Potter, head of Texas A&M’s Department of Phys ics, was one of nine University officials who were treated to a T-33 pet orientation ride during- a visit to Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama last week. The base is the home of the Air University. AIR UNIVERSITY ETV Texas A&M Deans William J. Graff and Wayne C. Hall ob serve the Air University’s educational television facility. The group toured the university at the invitation of AF- ROTC Commandant, Brig. Gen. W. C. Bindley, Jr. Not confused enough? Okay, let’s look again. Start with Cald well County. Don’t bother to look for the city of Caldwell there. It’s in Burleson County. Burleson, the town, is in Johnson County; and Johnson City—you’ve heard of this place—is miles away in Blanco County. Houston is in Harris County, but Houston County is three counties north, and the city of Crockett is its county seat. Crockett County is in far west Texas. Pequegnat, acting head of the Department of Ocean ography, will lecture on Senate Bill 2349, “National Sea Grant College and Program Act of 1965.” The free public lecture is at 2 p.m. in room 305 of Goodwin Hall. Lions Sponsor Camp For Crippled Children Members of Lions Clubs throughout Texas this month are pausing to pay recognition to The camp, located at Kerrville in the Hill Country of Central Texas, is free to crippled, blind, deaf or mute children from the ages of seven through sixteen. The 17 permanent buildings and other improvements dotting the 504 hill-side acres represent an investment of more than $600,000.
