Wayne Prescott, one of the top
ranked schoolboy tennis players
in Texas, has announced that
he will attend Texas A&M next
fall on a tennis scholarship. A&M
net coach Omar Smith said the
6-1, 165-pounder from Houston
Memorial, is a prize prospect . . .
It'll be a busy weekend for
Randy Matson, the big Aggie
sophomore, in the shotput ring.
He’ll leave A&M at 6:20 a.m.
Friday on a flight to Detroit,
Mich., where he’ll compete in
the NCAA Indoor meet at 8 p.m.
Then he’ll depart Detroit at 10
a.m. Saturday on a jet for Dallas
and will get on an Aggie charter
in Dallas at 3 p.m. en route to
Laredo where he’ll throw the
shot in the Border Olympics at 7
p.m. Saturday. He’ll miss the
