Members of the A&M BSU will loin members of the Mary Hardin Baylor BSU Saturday for a week end retreat at Bastrop State Park. * * * A World Mission Family Night Dinner will be held at 6:15 p.m. Sunday in the Fellowship Hall of the A&M Presbyterian Church. “The Rev. W. L. Miller, retired missionary to South America, will be the guest speaker,” said the Rev. H. Bruce Fisher, church pas tor. * * * “Beliefs of the Methodist Church” will be the theme of a series of programs beginning- at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Wesley Foundation. A film strip, “More Than Words,” and a discussion of the meaning of the Apostle’s Creed will be the opening topic. The following five Sunday eve ning programs will deal with The Father and the Son, The Church, The Resurrection, Forgiveness of Sins and The Life Everlasting. Following supper and worship beginning at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, the film “Face To Face” will be shown and a discussion will be held relating to A Christian View of Man. Electronic Science Institute Sets Second Two-Year Class The second two-year class of the Institute o f Electronic Science at A&M is set for June 7, announced L. K. Jonas, chief instructor. First graduating class of the institute will complete work in August. The Institute of Electronic Science is a division of the En gineering Extension Service. Jonas said the institute is spe cifically designed for the man who wants to work with equip ment rather than in the field of designing. Students spend 30 hours a week on material rang ing from basic mathematics through trigonometry and appli cations of calculus. Theory cov ers a broad spectrum, ranging from basic electricity to radar to computer applications. Half of the course is spent in the classroom, the other half in the laboratory and shop. Each man works on a personal project, which is in keeping with the per sonal participation aim of the course, Jonas explained. A maximum of 24 students will be enrolled.
