1 Water Pollution
A Water Pollution Control Tech
nology course is expected to draw
an estimated 25 participants Feb.
1-5 at A&M.
The course is designed to pro
vide technical training for people
to supervise and operate waste
treatment plants. Instruction will
be by full time instructors from
the Engineering Extension Service.
Leon Holbert, chief instructor, will
direct the school.

A new era in the development
of fisheries training and research
programs of the Department of
Wildlife Management will be
launched this summer, announced
Dr. W. B. Davis, head of the de
partment.
He said three courses previous
ly taught on campus will be offer
ed at the A&M Marine Laboratory
in Galveston. Dr. Sammy Ray is
laboratory director.

Twelve future agriculture teach
ers at the Chott Maria Agricul
tural College in Tunisia are sche
duled to register as freshman next
week at A&M.
The Tunisians will pursue basic
courses in agriculture during their
freshman and sophomore years be
fore choosing a specialized field

near Sousse, Tunisia.

The National Science Founda
tion informed President Earl
Rudder of a $46,000 grant to
support nine new Graduate
Traineeships starting in Sep-
teShber. The grant includes
allowances for the student and
sums both for stipends and
for the university.
The total of nine new trainee-
ships compares with the present
total of five. Graduate Dean
Wayne C. Hall said. He noted
that the traineeships should not
be confused with the NSE Fel
lowships.

special guests at the midwinter
conference of the Texas Press As
sociation Friday and Saturday in
Austin.
The students are Glenn A.
Dromgoole of Sour Lake and Clov
is E. McCallister of Kermit.

Battalion, and McCallister, a sen
ior from Kermit, is night news
editor.
