Page 4 College Station, Texas Thursday, December 10, 1964 THE BATTALION 30 Technical Papers Ready For Academy Of Sciences Thirty technical papers will be presented by faculty and students during the 68th annual meeting of the Texas Academy of Sciences and related organizations. The series of meetings opens Thursday afternoon and continues through Saturday at Waco. A&M people also will be parti cipating in the top echelons of Academy and Collegiate Academy organizations. Dr. Sidney O. Brown of A&M is secretary-treasurer of the Academy and another profes sor, Dr. Richard J. Baldauf, also serves on the Board of Directors. Charles O. Hook of Marlin, a senior, is the southeast district director in the Collegiate Academy. President of the A&M unit of the Collegiate Academy is another physics major, James N. Downing, Jr. Five students in wildlife manage ment, as announced earlier, will present papers to the Collegiate Academy. Other students planning to pre sent papers: James M. Burns, Jr. from Bee- ville, is co-author of a paper en titled “Design and Fabrication of Very Large Geiger Counters.” Harry W. Centner, Fort Worth, is author of a paper in the bio logical sciences. The title is “Changes in the Trematode Fauna of Clams in the Little Brazos Riv er.” Centner is a senior. John J. Wanstrath will present a paper entitled “Neutron Dif fractometer.” James E. Fore, a senior in phy sics, will present a paper on “Re sponse of the Subesophageal Gang lion of the Cockroach.” Marvin E. Richmond is co-author of a paper titled “Design and Fab rication of Very Large Geiger Counters.” SMU Campus Hosts Annual Unions Meet Terry Oddson, and Howard Head, pre-veterinary students are all smiles after wrapping up plans for the Region 12 Association of College Unions Convention to be held in Dallas Thursday and Fri day. Both students are from Richard son. Head is conference chairman and Oddson is president of the Memorial Student Center Council and Directorate.
