Crowning of the homecoming
queen Friday night will climax
homecoming activities at A&M
Consolidated High School this
weekend.
Nine girls were chosen as final
ists for the honor by the student
body, with the final selection to be
announced at halftime of the Con-
solidated-Brenham football game
here Friday night.
The candidates include: seniors
—Daisy Sloan, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Jack T. Sloan, and Sylvia
Mansfield, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. W. B. Mansfield; juniors —
Susie Brown, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Frank B. Brown, and Debbie
Cooper, daughter of Dr. and Mrs.
O. C. Cooper.
Sophomores — Kati Prater,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom E.
Prater, and Kathy Litterst, daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Litterst;
freshmen — Celia Goode, daughter” h
of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip B. Goode,
and Mary Hooper, daughter of Dr.
and Mrs. H. W. Hooper; candidate-
at-large — Georgia Heritage,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. M.
Heritage.
The finalists will be escorted in
the ceremonies by their fathers,
except for Daisy Sloan. Dr. Nolan
Williamson will substitute for Miss
Sloan’s father, who is on a foreign
assignment for A&M University.
Homecoming activities at the lo
cal high school begin at 5 p.m.
Thursday with a snake dance, pep
rally and bonfire. The junior class
play, football game and post-game
party are other events scheduled
for the weekend.

Dr. Igo Announces
Cyclotron Program
Dr. G. J. Igo, director of the
Cyclotron Institute, has announced
the time schedule for the cyclotron
to be built here.
The cyclotron is still in the draw
ing stage with five contractors
now bidding for the project. Igo
will have these bids to give the
Board of Directors Nov. 25.
The project schedule calls for
construction to begin in January,
1966. Upon completion of the
foundation, the large magnet which
composes the cyclotron nucleus will
be placed.

Computer science has come to
the aid of Texas Agricultural Ex
tension Service Conference plan-
The program for the Extension
Service State Conference here Oct.
26-30 was developed with the as
sistance of computers at the Data
Processing Center.
Conference Chairman W. A.
(Bill) Smith, Extension forestry
specialist, said questionnaires were
sent to all Extension personnel
several months ago to obtain sug
gestions for speakers and confer
ence objectives. Completed ques
tionnaires were fed into comput
ers to help plan the conference.
The conference theme is “New
Horizons in Adult Education.” The
