The annual show has slated bare- back bronc riding, bull riding, tie down calf roping, ribbon roping and steer wrestling along with the barrel race. Prizes will be awarded for each go-around on a first, second and third-place basis and belt buckles will be given for over-all winners after Saturday’s performance. Prize money will be mailed out this year after the rodeo, a rodeo spokesman said. National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association rules will be followed throughout the rodeo, except in choosing the All-Around Cowboy. The rodeo is open to all Aggies, university faculty members and farm employees. McBride Brothers, of Dallas will furnish the stock for the show and Ronnie Patterson of Lamesa will be the announcer. Aggies Host BU In Cross Country Coach Charlie Thomas’ Aggie cross country delegation will make its first appearance of the season when it hosts the Baylor Bears Fri day in a two-mile meet at 5 p.m. on the A&M cross country course. Leading the Maroon distance men will be team captains Danny Clifton, Geoffrey Earl and Don Smith—all sophomores. The four other runners to battle the Bears will be Bob Smith of El Paso, Noel Adams of Alvin, Bill Turney of Houston and Johnnie Cosper of Edna. All but Turney are sophomores. Captain Clifton is a 1963 Class B mile champion while Earl was clocked in the mile at 4:28.0 his freshman year. Don Smith, who Southwest a best Fish finished fifth in the Conference mile, had effort of 4:29.3. The sophomore cross country unit was the same team that went undefeated as freshmen. Thomas said that three veterans did not qualify for the cross coun try squad — Gene Westmoreland, junior from Lamesa, Earl Myers, senior from Vanderbilt, and John Duran, junior from Wellington, Kan. All of the Aggie track squad has been put through the paces since classes have started, with all the team running and getting in con dition. Thomas said that about 30 freshmen have reported for work outs.
