Management Seminar Set
The first of three management
seminars planned here this year
by the A&M University School
of Business Administration will be
gin May 3, Dr. John E. Pearson
has announced.
Week-long seminars with attend
ance limited to 25 managerial level
enrollees will start May 3, Aug.
9 and Oct 25, the business ad
ministration head said.
“The seminars are planned as
intensive educational experiences
with concentrated study of inter
related managerical skills and
concepts,” Seminar Director W. E.
Eckles noted. He is a member of
the business administration faculty
and also directs the broader three-
w e e k Executive Development
Course.
Registration for the first semi
nar is complete with participants
from manufacturing, insurance,
petroleum and the utilities indus
tries, Eckles added.
“We pioneered this seminar pro
gram in 1962-63 at the request
of several business and industries,
and in response to requests from
these and other companies with
comparable needs, the management
seminars are being offered this
year,” he pointed out.
The seminar faculty will include
A&M faculty members and other
authorities.

Regalia For The May Commencement
Exercise
All students who are candidates for the
degree of Doctor of Philosophy are required
to order hoods as well as the doctor’s cap
and gown. The hoods are to be left at the
Registrar’s Office no later than 1 :00 p. m.,
Tuesday, May 19 (this will be accomplished
by a representative of the College Exchange
Store). The Ph. D. hoods will not be worn
in the procession since all such candidates
will be hooded on the stage as a part of the
ceremonies. Candidates for the Master’s
Degree will wear the Master’s cap and
gown. AH civilian students who are candi
dates for the Bachelor’s Degree will wear
the bachelor’s cap and gown. ROTC stu
dents who are candidates for the Bachelor’s
Degree will wear the Class "A’’ cadet
uniform in lieu of academic regalia. Sen
ior boots are optional with the uniform.
Rental of caps and gowns may be arranged
with the Exchange Store. Orders may be
placed between 8:00 a. m. Monday, May 4
and 12:00 noon Saturday, May 16. The
rental is as follows: Doctor’s cap and
gown $5.25, Master’s cap and gown $4.75,
Bachelor’s cap and gown $4.25. Hood
rental is the same as that for cap and
gown. A 2% Texas State Sales Tax is re

Those undergraduate students who have
95 hours of credit may purchase the A&M
ring. The hours passing at the time of
the preliminary grade report on March
23, 1964, may be used in satisfying the
95 hour requirement. Those students quali
fying under this regulation may leave
their names with the ring clerk in the
Registrar's Office in order that she may
check their records to determine their
eligibility to order the rings. Orders for
the rings will be taken between April 13
and May 29. from 8:00 a. m. to 12:00
noon. Delivery for these rings will be
made on or about July 1, 1964. Transfer
students must complete two full semesters
at A&M University before they are eligible
to order the A&M ring. The ring clerk
is on duty from 8:00 a. m. to 12:00 noon
Monday through Friday of each week.
