Page 4 College Station, Texas Thursday, March 12, 1964 THE BATTALION School Trustees Due Here School trustees from 18 counties are due Friday for the fifth an nual regional workshop sponsored jointly by the Texas Association of School Boards and A&M Uni versity. The workshop from 3 until 9 p.m. will include six discussion groups, speeches and a banquet. The workshop, one of 19 held throughout Texas, will bring prob lems facing public education into sharper focus for possible solu tion. The workshop director is J. B. (Dick) Hervey, executive secretary of the Association of Former Stu dents. He also is a member of the Texas Association of School Boards’ executive committee. Grady Parker of the Depart ment of Education and Psycholo gy is workshop coordinator. Future Aggie Wins Honors Thomas Faubion of Bryan, who plans to attend A&M after gradu ation from high school, has been named winner of a $1,000 scholar ship award for top honors in an architectural drafting contest. The announcement was made by Dr. M. D. Williamson of Denton, executive secretary of the Texas Industrial Arts Associ ation, co-sponsor of the contest with Teen-Fair of Texas. Faubion, son of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Faubion of 3806 Ridge wood Street, will receive the award at a San Antonio meeting of Teen-Fair in June. Now in his second year drawing course, Faubion has been super vised by W. A. Mayfield. Engineers Produce Handbook A pocket-size book of instruct ions on building homes of earth has been produced by engineering researchers at A&M. The handbook was written by Lyle A. Wolfsk'ill, Wayne A. Dun lap and Bob M. Gallaway of A&M’s Texas Transportation Institute. It offers information for building homes of adobe, rammed earth and machine-made earth blocks in an country of the world. The publication includes 951» to-do sketches and photos to ai builders and also contains usef,. formulas and conversion tables fti weights and measures. The U. S.
