Cash Available For Books, Slide Rules & Etc. 5,000 AGGIES CAN’T BE WRONG LOUPOTS BY RAY HARRIS Battalion Special Writer “Going for broke!” This is what Joe A. Ferreri said this week as he viewed five acres of not yet completed Ramada Inn. Ferreri and his wife, owners of the $1,500,000 project, estimate grand opening time prior to the A&M-UT football weekend. The Williamsburg Colonial struc ture will have 169 rooms when finished. It will feature three din ing rooms and a ballroom with a seating capacity of 800 people. “Income from the Ramada Inn will remain in the Bryan-College Station area because it is locally owned,” said Mrs. Ferreri. The Ferreris obtained a fran chise from Ramada, Inc. to build the motor hotel and are financing construction through the Massa chusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. of Dallas. Assisting in arranging the financing of the project is Ar lington Helbing, Jr., a graduate of A&M and regional supervisor for the insurance company. The con tractor is W. H. Bullard Co. of Austin. The owners of the new motor ho tel feel it will boost local business considerably. Swain and Meyers of Decatur, 111., interior decorators, designed the ballroom, kitchen and dining rooms. And there will be variety in din ing. When completed, there will be a Pancake Room and a Beef eater’s Room. Also there will be a Faculty Room especially de signed for the faculty of A&M. Rooms in the new Ramada Inn were designed and furnished by Finger Contract Supply Co. of Houston and offer the visitor many services. In every room will be AM and FM radio, a message sig nal to indicate outside calls at the main desk and a new innovation, closed circuit TV. Not only will regular viewing be available to occupants, but they will also be able to observe activities in vari ous parts of the motor hotel from their individual rooms. T’wo rooms will have three bunk- beds of two bunks each. These economy rooms will allow six peo ple to share one room. The new Ramada Inn will cater to the family, indicated the own ers. In the large center portion or court area will be a play area for children and a swimming pool with underwater music. There will be executive suites and a bridal suite for' the newlyweds. Also there will be a barber shop, beauty shop, flower shop and gift shop. Office space is available for local busi nessmen. INTERIOR OF RAMADA INN Lobby as envisaged by architect.
