Page 4 College Station, Texas Thursday, August 29, 1963 THE BATTALION Oceanography Gets NSF Gift The Department of Oceanog raphy and Meteorology has received a National Science Foundation grant of $25,700 for further study of ocean current measurements in the Drake Passage south of South America, President Earl Rudder announced Tuesday. The project now in its third year is concerned with surface and deep current measurements in the stormy passage linking the Atlantic and Pacific. 'A. Ward of Dallas. yi Twin Baseballers Get Assistantships Ward, educational director of the National Cottonseed Products Association from 1926 until his re tirement in 1957, donated manu scripts of 318 of his speeches made to agricultural and business groups during his career. An A&M gradu ate in 1910 and a former Agricul tural Extension swine husbandry- man, Ward has spoken on the history and progress of Texas agri culture throughout the state. The Singley twins who compiled an enviable record as students and athletes at A&M will hold assist antships in the Department of Education and Psychology.
