teaching devices has been a set of

Mrs. Johnson has used many
approaches in presenting the family

the family approach to County
Program Building and planning,
regular programs and demonstra

work for giving assistance to inter

and the encouragement and stimu

Engineering Prof
Dies Wednesday
Professor Stanley A. Wykes,
of the Department of Industrial
Engineering, died of a heart
attack Wednesday in Richard
son. The 56-year-old man had
been employed by a Dallas in
dustry this summer.
He is survived here by his
wife, two sons, his mother, sis
ter and two brothers. Services
will be held in the Hillier Fun
eral Home Chapel at 4 p.m. Fri
day. Burial will be in the Bryan
cemetary.
Some Of Nation’s Leaders
Were Once Students Here
The 1963-64 freshmen at A&M
will be on “hallowed ground at
Aggieland. For it has been over
this small plot of earth in Brazos
County that some of the nation’s
outstanding leaders have walked.
It has been over these few
acres that many former students
first received that valuable train
ing in leadership, discipline and
knowledge. The freshmen of to
day is little different from the
freshman of 1910, 1920, or 1930.
For the most part, all have come
from various sections of Texas
and from all types of economic
backgrounds. However, it is safe
to say that many were farm boys
without much money, boys who
“worked their way through” at
A&M.
To name all the successful
graduates of Aggieland would re
quire a volume; to tell the story
of each Aggie would require a
library. Their accomplishments
in the world of business, industry,
the military and other fields are
outstanding.
In the military field, for ex
ample, many “former freshmen”
have been successful.
