5,000 AGGIES CAN’T BE WRONG
LOUPOT'S
Five seniors will be playing or watching their last base
ball game in an Aggie uniform when the Texas Longhorns
come to town for a two-game series this weekend.
They are pitchers Kenny Floyd and Ed Singley, catcher
Bill Puckett, shortstop Jack Singley and leftfielder Ray Hall.
Floyd transferred to A&M from Tarleton State College
last year. He has appeared in eight games for the Cadets
this year, winning one and losing none.
Ed Singley. twin brother of Jack, is a two-year letter-
man from Oklahoma City. He had a 5-1 record for Coach
Tom Chandler last year and pitched in 10 games while post
ing a 4-1 slate this season.
Puckett, another two-year letterman, has been A&M’s
regular catcher for the past three seasons. He is from Okla
homa City also and caught for Singley in high school. Puckett
hit .200 for the Aggies last year and was hitting .226 through
28 games this season.
Jack Singley has performed mainly as utility infielder
this season olaying third base and shortstop. A two-year
letterman, Singley hit .143 last year and is currently hitting
at a .226 clip.
Hall, from Fort Worth, was switched to leftfield midway
through the campaign after playing centerfield the two
previous years. He is a two-year letterman who has gained
a reputation throughout the conference for his fine arm
and wide range in the center spread. Hall slumped to a .165
batting average last year after hitting .365 his sophomore
year. He has come on strong recently and is is the second
leading hitter on the club with a .303 average.
These five have done an outstanding job for A&M and a
full grandstand Saturday afternoon would show them how
much they are appreciated.

A&M lost a probable starting guard from the 1963-64
football team last week when Jerry Pizzitola was suspended
from school for excessive traffic violations.
James P. Hannigan, dean of students, said the length
of the suspension was indefinite but that Pizzitola would be
able to re-enter A&M at a later date.
Pizzitola drew the violations for failing to register his
car.
The Daily Texan, UT’s student newspaper, added another
thorn to the crown the Aggies have worn since the closing
game of the 1962 baseball season with an editorial recalling
the 11-10 loss the Cadets suffered last spring.
The article started like this:
“Gather ’round me buddies, Hold your glasses high;
And drink to a team, a baseball team, that bid the Aggies
goodbye ...”
So let’s. see a standing-room-only crowd in Kyle Field
to help Tom Chandler’s crew remove the thorn Friday and
Saturday.
