Aggie Parachutists Take 2nd In Fair view, Okla. Contest The parachute club was in Fair- view, Okla., last weekend, whei-e they were the second-best overall club in a sky-diving meet spon sored by the Enid, Okla., Sky Divers. Oklahoma State University’s jumpers barely edged the Aggies out in the meet. Other teams particinating in the trials were from the University of Oklahoma, Fort Sill, Fort Hood and Fort Riley. The A&M club has grown in numbers since its establishment a few years ago. As of the fall semester, there were 54 dues- paying* members participating in club activities. LIMITED OFFER! Army Jump Team Thursday night at 7:80 in the Memorial Student Center. Any interested persons have been invited to attend. Bob Sholly took second place in the individual overall scoring at Fairview. He was third in the advanced style jumping and second in the intermediate style compe tition. Bob Richardson, Jay Whellock and John Olden made up an Aggie team that placed third in the team spot jumping competition. Olden was first in the individual spot jumping with an effoxi; that landed him only four feet from the target. Richardson, hit 10 feet fi’om the target to take second place in the individual spot jumping. Mike Richardson was second in the novice spot jumping- compe tition. Michael Zinz and Pat Works rounded out the A&.M representa tion at the meet. Handballers Will Host UT On A&M Courts Saturday The A&M handball team will host the University of Texas hand ball team in DeWare Fieldhouse Saturday morning at 10. The two teams met in Austin Feb. 16 and. the more-experienced lads from Texas won 16 of 20. A&M’s regulation-sized courts should prove a more familiar set ting for the Ags than the smaller- than-normal ones at Austin. Members of the A&M Handball Club make up the Aggie team. Their berths on the squad are de termined by positions on the com petition ladder maintained by the club. < Club reporter W. R. Allen said that anyone interested in entering the. handball ladder competition may do so. A set of directions for entering has been placed between courts 10 and 11 in DeWare Fieldhouse. Frosh Rifle Team Beats Dallas Squad Contestants can place their chal lenges in the box provided. Intramurals Is, m HURRY! LIMITED QUANTITY! The freshman rifle team scored 3,690 points out of a possible 4,000 to defeat a composite team from Dallas high schools in a match fix-ed here over the weekend. The Dallas team fired 3,670. Dallas high school student Ray Morey and freshman Carl E. Long of Dallas each, scored 378 out of a possible 400 points to lead indi vidual scorers. Semi-finals for intramural wrestling will be held next Tues day. Wednesday will be held open and then Thursday, the finals will begin. The sports to follow wrestling: Class A&C volleyball and tennis, and Class B handball are sched uled March 11, accox-ding to Charles E. McCandless, intramural director. Rifle is tentatively set for March 11 also. Freshman wrestlers who failed to report Wednesday, but were absent to attend the freshman meeting in Guion Hall, must re schedule their match, first with the intramural director and then with their opponent. Wednesday’s A&C results in wrestling: 147 division, Sandefer of Mitchell Hall . The 167 division: Beai-den, Walton Hall and Simpton, C-l.
