Associated Press Sports Writer
DALLAS, Tex. (A 3 )—Billy Moore,
Arkansas’ all-purpose quarterback,
leads the All-Southwest Confer
ence football team announced
Thursday.
Moore was the only unanimous
choice of Ijhe coaches who selected
the team for The Associated Press.
Johnny Treadwell, fierce guard
of champion Texas, and Tommy
Ford, crushing- runner on the same
team, lacked only one vote.
A&M’s rifle team beat Texas at
Austin last week and ended its
regular season competition in the
Southwest Rifle Association with
a 7-1 record. The win moved the
Ags into a tie with Arlington
State for the association lead.
Arlington State must complete
its season without another defeat
or the Cadets will have a clear-cut
championship. It’s not likely that
they will lose, however, and there
will probably have to be a neutral-
ground playoff between the two
leaders.
The Aggies’ only defeat came at
the hands of Arlington State,

Dec. 7 Match
A dual meet between the A&M
and Le Tourneau College of Long
view wrestling - clubs is scheduled
Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. in G. Rollie White
Coliseum, Russell Wieder, A&M
wrestling coach, announced Mon
day.
Eight events for the eight dif
ferent weight classes are sched
uled. A wrestler can enter only
one event.
The eight weight classes will
range from 123 lbs. and under to
an unlimited class of 177 lbs. and
over.
The match will be held in the
wrestling room on the second floor
of the new addition in G. Rollie
White Coliseum. The public is
invited, Wieder said.

Soccer Team
Wins 5th, 9-1
The A&M Soccer Team made it
five victories in a row last week
with an 8-1 triumph over the Blue
Stars of Pasadena in Houston.
Forwards Ramiro Gereda and Car
los Valarezo led the Aggie scoring
with two goals each.
A&M held the Blue Stars score
less in the first half. Carlos Mata-
moros, a fullback, was outstanding
on defense for the Ags. The Aggie
goal-keeper is Harold Brent.
The second-half score by the
Blue Stars was the sixth point that
opponents have scored on the Ag
gies this season. The eight points
make it 32 that A&M has scored
in five clashes.
The soccer team is now well on
its way to representing the Hous
ton Soccer League in the annual
Cotton Bowl game later this sea
son. They meet the Unitas Club
of Houston on the A&M field Sun
day afternoon and, if they win, will
secure the berth to Dallas.
Moore, leading the conference
in rushing and scoring and second
in total offense, was the key man
in Arkansas’ finest season yet—
9-1. He will show the Sugar Bowl
crowd what he can do with a foot
ball, which is plenty.
Treadwell, heart of Texas’ de
fense, will sport his wares in the
Cotton Bowl. It was defense that
won the games and gave the Long
horns their first unbeaten season
in 39 years.
IT WAS IN the Cotton Bowl
1,441-1,418.
A&M shot its best score against
the Longhorns, a 1,441 out of the
possible 1,500. High-point man
for the Cadets was McCloud
Hodges Jr., with 292 out of 300,
and his teammate, Gerrald Greak,
fired 290.
Members of the A&M team who
are Army ROTC cadets will be at
Fort Hood Saturday for the
Fourth Army Central Texas Area
ROTC Small Bore Match.
that Treadwell made the big play
in the Jan. 1, 1962, game in which
Texas beat Mississippi 12-7. He
helped intercept a pass by batting
the ball into the air to choke off
a Mississippi victory threat.
Ford ran for 430 yards and
scored cruciai touchdowns in Tex
as’ march to the conference cham
pionship.
David Parks, the pass-catching
wingman of Texas Tech, and Jerry
Mazzanti, Arkansas’ consistent
tackle, ranked next to Moore,
Treadwell and Ford on the team,
each lacking only two votes of
unanimous choice.
Pairing with Parks at end is
Gene Raesz of Rice, while big Ray
Schoenke, power of Southern
Methodist’s line, teams with Maz
zanti at the tackles. I
Treadwell’s running mate at
guard is Robert Burk, the rock of
Baylor’s line.
Jerry Hopkins of Texas A&M
got the center spot in a spirited
battle with John Hughes, the de
fensive wizard of Southern Meth
odist.
Danny Brabham, the battering
halfback of Arkansas, and Ronnie
Goodwin, the versatile halfback of
Baylor, fill out the backfield.
