MSC lanes, reminds students that

the bowler of the high score every
week and another carton of cigare

Handball Manager
Releases Policy
Jimmy Guiberteau, senior intra
mural handball manager, has an
nounced a new policy on the is
suing of handballs, which will be
come effective Nov. 1.
According to Guiberteau, all out
fits or civilian dorms must bring
one identification card per group
to play handball. No handballs,
he emphasized, will be issued to
groups not presenting I. D. cards.
Clemson’s new basketball coach
is Bobby Roberts, 34, a native of
Pelzer, S. C., who coached the
Clemson freshmen for four years.
A&M’s Fish football team coach
ed by Dick Johnson plays host to
a tough University of Houston
freshman team on Kyle Field

Kickoff time is 7:30 p.m.
The Fish are winless in two
games, dropping their opener to
the TCU Wogs 28-13 in Fort
Worth and losing in Waco to the
Baylor Cubs 10-7.
The Houston Kittens have taken
three out of four decisions thus
far this season. The U of H frosh
have beaten Mexico Poly 28-6,
Wharton Junior College 8-6, and
Kilgore Junior College 20-15. Their
only loss has been at the hands
of the Air Force Academy fresh
men, 28-6 in Colorado Springs,
Colo.
LAST YEAR’S game was won
by the Fish 7-6 on Mike Pitman’s
50 yard punt return early in the
fourth quarter.
Starting signal-caller for the
Fish will be either Eddie McKaug-
han, who started against Baylor, or
Ira Hillyer. Quarterback for the
Kittens will be Morris Wilson.
Other probable starters for the
Fish will be Larry Bates and Har
old Fletcher at ends, Tom Over-
street and Ray Patterson at tackles,
Tom Murrah and Joe Wellborn
at guards and Jim Singleton at
center.
THE KITTENS will feature cen
ter John Tewes, tackles Ray Dud
ley and Calvin Enderli, and guard
Bobby Muniz.
Halfback Mike Spratt leads
Houston in rushing, gaining 272
yards in two games. Spratt ran
for 233 yards and two touchdowns
against Kilgore.
The Kittens are coached by Car-
roll Schultz.
Leading ground gainer for the
Fish is halfback Jim Stabler, who
has 54 yards in seven carries. Top
Fish passer is Bob Dosher, who
has hit nine out of 20 for two
touchdowns and 141 yards.

college or freshman competition.
Seven-footer Lewis Qualls, Jim
Keller and Jerry Windham are sen
iors who own two varsity letters
each. Windham, a 6-6, 213-pounder
from Hamilton, has been a consist
ent standout at rebounding for two
years.-Keller will be late getting
started for his present obligations

CHARLIE MINOR, ball-hawking
little guard from Pampa who miss
ed last season with a knee in
jury, should get back into action.
The 5-11, 170-pounder is a senior
with one varsity letter from his
soph days.
Center Lee Walker, who stands
6-7 and weighs 200 pounds rounds
out the five-man senior delegation
on the team. A product of Three
Rivers, Walker has one varsity
letter.
Junior Bennie Lenox, a 6-2, 170-
pounder from League City (Clear
Creek), and Bill Robinette, a 6-6,
180-pounder from Port Arthur, are
the two other lettermen.
Chuck McGuire, Dallas (Jesuit);
Cecil Ferguson, Houston (Smiley)
and Lynn Merritt, Robstown; are
the three juniors with one year’s
squad experience.
GERALD WOODARD from Dry
Prong, La. and Cliff Hankins from
Dallas (Adamson) make it seven
juniors. Woodard was the much-
sought-after “Mr. Basketball of
Louisiana” who Rogers signed last
spring.
Center Tim Timmerman from
Houston (Austip) and Paul Tim-j
mins from League City (Clear
Creek) are the two sophs who
complete the lineup. Timmins, a
5-11 guard was named to last
year’s All-SWC freshman team.
