Page 2 THE BATTALIOm College Station, Texas Wednesday, March 21, 1962 BATTALION EDITORIALS CADET SLOUCH by Jim Earle TopEn tertainment Something no-one can deny: entertainment at A&M has been on the upswing! No longer can students legitimately cry out that the campus is dead or lacking anything decent in the way of high-quality entertainment. During the past semester and a half, the campus has been a show-place for celebrities—some of the world’s top entertainment specialists have performed on the stages of G. Rollie White Coliseum and Guion Hall. Take the past three weeks as an example: Aggie au diences have seen top collegiate talent at ITS, Broadway musical stars in “The Music Man.” Jose Greco and his Spanish Ballet and local fine arts talent in “Theatre of Man” Sunday. Tomorrow and Friday nights, the world’s greatest flamen co guitarist will perform at Town Hall—Carlos Montoya. As the sparkling parade of stars continues through the year, and as more people take advantage of the programs, perhaps the days when A&M was thought of as a wasteland, enter tainment-wise, will be forgotten. At least, they should! ‘A whistle-a wink-and Wildroot. . gets her every time” : - vv f ■ -: \ V •> .'S' -; . • . mi Sound Off Arkansas Wants Bowling Team 0 New • |Tub e -Formula Wiki root i Really ^Aforks! § 9 Grooms clean as a whistle a quick as a wink • ( ' AA/ quick-dissolving tube formula works faster and cleaner than ever. This team could compete with other Southwest Conference schools and perhaps a SWC bowling league could be established. It seems to me that bowling is just as much a team and in dividual sport as tennis, golf basketball, football and so forth. With bowling’s tremendous ac ceptance by the American public, I think it might be a good idea for someone to explore the possi bilities of forming a school bowl ing team which would play other schools. Perhaps some organization would be willing to explore the idea. Maybe a faculty bowling team might be formed to play other faculty teams at SWC schools. What do you think ? Robert D. H. Horsley of the Placement Office in the YM CA Building render each year to, all graduating seniors seeking professional employment. Their efforts make it possible for each senior to seek the type of em ployment that suits his interest and background without the in convenience of voluminous cor respondence with numerous com panies. The effort of these individuals in arranging complex schedules, securing reference letters, com piling personal folders, as well as the many other varied tasks they perform, is to often over looked or taken for granted. Cer tainly the continuance of tkis service is very worthwhile and for the benefit of all concerned. he CC.g' ,40 Fon Bulletin Board Hometown Clubs Angelina County Hometown Club will meet Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. in front of the Mem orial Student Center to go out to eat.
