All right Ags, choose sides.
There is a battle raging that’s
more fun than a water fight in a
quadrangle full of bulls.
On one hand we have the shrub-
bers and on the other side of the
fence we have the anti-shrubbers.
The shrubbers are spear-heading
a gripe campaign to get the
shrubs back in their old places,
sprawling over sidewalks and turf
alike, in front of Cushing Memorial
Library.
The anti-shrubbers are counter
attacking with a support drive for
the ground maintenance depart
ment.
And even the prof’s wives and
aggie wives are standing by their
pruning shears and trimming clip
pers.
Actually, what really has hap
pened was that the grounds main
tenance department moved the pro
digious growth of hedges and
shrubs to other areas at the East
Gate and along Ross Street, a-
cross from the Exchange Store.
The wide-open spaces are slated
to get new landscaping of another
type.
Richard Thornton, head of the
grounds maintenance department,
told The Battalion that he was
in the process of carrying out both
long-range and short-range plans
for beautifying the campus.
He said the overall plans would
be released in about two months.
. . . And it passed that the
shrubbers and the anti-shrubbers
made their peace and lived happi
ly ever after.

Waddell urged that all .seniors
attending the meeting “carry the
word” and emphasize returning
the requested information to the
Former Students’ Association. He
added that another class meeting
to decide the senior gift to the
college would be called later in
the semester.
In other business, Social Secre
tary Johnny Martinez reported that
plans were progressing for the
Senior Ring Dance to be held May
19, one week before final review.
