in weeks. In this week’s Post,
he tells how NATO is courting
disaster. Why our army is full of
“civilians in uniform.” And how
we can offset the Soviet threat
by a "balance of terror.”

NEA Design Event
Wants American
Education Symbol
The National Education Associ
ation has announced a design con
test to symbolically show the
story of American education.
The symbol, which can be a
statue or other artistic repre
sentation, should illustrate the
past, present and direction to
ward the future of education.
The person who designs the
best idea for the symbol, which
will be placed at the entrance to
the Hall of Education at the New
York World’s Fair of 1964-65, will
be awarded a trip around the
world as a member of a travel
tour of the NEA. Any educator
is eligible for the contest.
A second award, the NEA said,
will be a nation-wide air tour
ending in a visit to the fair. Five
other runners-up will be flown
from their homes to New York
to visit the fair.
According to the NEA, entries
must include a typewritten descrip
tion and rough sketch of paper.
Entries will be judged on the ideas
they contain, not artistic quality.
Each entry should include the
name, address and educational
position of the contestant, and
should be sent to Hall of Educa
tion, Symbol Search, International
Fair Consultants, 10 Columbus Cir
cle, New York, 19. Entry deadline
is Feb. 28.
