THE BATTALION Page 2 College Station, Texas Thursday, October 19, 1961 Review Or Army was pretty much up in the air about the Corps order that only blouses (no green shirts) will be worn to the A&M-TCU football game Saturday in Fort Worth. In direct defiance to the order, two white-sheeted, bicycle-riding “mole men” streamed up and down the quadrangle between Dorms 14 and 15 about 2:30 a. m. Wednesday. Most noticible feature besides the waving sheets was a whining siren on one of the bikes. ★ ★ ★ And concerning another Corps order—the one which says you can’t leave the campus wearing blue jeans. One of our West-Texas-agronomy-major buddies, who began wearing blue jeans before diapers, says the folks back home wear ’em to church. Says he just wants to know one thing about the order: “Why?” ★ ★ ★ I-Wish-I-Were-A-Freshman-Again Department: Two Corps fish seen Sunday saluting three Allen Academy cadets in front of the All Faiths Chapel. Were perturbed their salutes weren’t returned. ★ ★ ★ Attention fur trappers! Boe Martin, ’62 and a member of the Third Brigade Staff, reports skunk hunting is great around Walton Hall. Martin and another student were held at bay by an irate skunk for 15 minutes Tuesday when they tried to enter the dorm. The skunk finally decided in fAvor of the Ags, lowered his tail, and drifted into the bushes. Earlie the same “kitty,” or his (her) roommate had a run-in with a group of Walton Hall civilians. This incident, too, was a stand off. Sooner or later this war of nerves will end with the “shot smelled ’round the campus.” ★ ★ ★ It has been called to our attentfon more than once that Tuesday’s Batt carried an ad reading “Corp” Trip instead of Corps.” So we can’t spel. Nobody’s perfict. We were just trying to get rid of all the “S’s” in the CorpS. ★ ★ ★ Dallas Morning News Columnist Paul (Big D) Crume says the Aggies are a cinch for the SWC football crown this year. Says Crume: “I wait until all the sports writers have visited the schools and had their say in their papers. Then I look for a school which they haven’t given much of a chance. Of course, this school must have the potential. And this year it is A&M. The Aggies have the potential. Shrewd. TRIANGLE RESTAURANT LUNCH AND DINNER SPECIAL Thursday 1. Deep Fried Shrimp Roll 85 2.
