eye.” These aims are the motto
of You—Tomorrow, a non-profit
educational corporation for the
benefit of youth.
Riding will be taught by Joan
Loveless in the third Horseman
ship and Horsemastership School,
and Sandy Pond will teach jump
ing.
Rifle instruction will be con
ducted in the twenty-first Basic
Small Arms Training School un
der the auspices of the Twin City
Junior Rifle Club and the Na
tional Rifle Assn.
The summer activities will be
climaxed by the third annual Bene
fit Horse Show. The benefit is to
the Bryan Boys Club, Inc, and the
Brazos County Juvenile Court
Fund, Concessions and gate will
be handled by officials of the two
organizations. Joan Loveless, gen
eral chairman, expects entries to
near the 100 mark.

James Peck of New York, the
chief target of attackers at Birm
ingham Sunday, told newsmen: “It

gulfed in such a state of hatred.”

from a melee in Birmingham. He
talked to newsmen with his head
wrapped in white gauze bandages.

Conn., the unofficial leader of the

South Carolina and Alabama.”
The group said it would remain
in New Orleans until Wednesday
night for a celebration of the U. S.
Supreme Court’s decision in 1954
declaring school segregation un
constitutional. The seventh anni
versary celebration will be held in
a Negro Baptist Church.
In Birmingham earlier Tuesday,
a young Ku Klux Klansman, his

ers” at the Birmingham Bus Term
inal Sunday.
Jesse Oliver Faggard, 20, who
operates a doughnut machine at a
Birmingham bakery, signed a
statement admitting he had taken
pai’t in mob action and was charg
ed with assault with intent to mur
der and grand larceny. His father,
Jesse Thomas Faggard 48, was ar
rested on a disorderly conduct
charge. The other man was ident
ified as Howard Thurston Ed
wards, 22, of Irondale, Ala., held
without a charge.
