1950, the Memorial Student Center is the place where a student may spend
his leisure hours, relaxing or participating in the many activities offered by

Room, Honor Banquets or for just lounging and visiting in

PERSONNEL . . .
helps the many activity committees interview personnel for membership
and handles the numerous personnel problems in the large and diversified
student activities .program in the MSC.
PUBLIC RELATIONS . . .
brings to the attention of the campus and community the facilities and
activities available in the MSC, through radio, newspaper and television.
RADIO . . .
Comprised of “ham” operators and other students interested in amateur
radio, and operates its own “ham shack” in the MSC.
MUSIC . . .
sponsors recitals of classical and popular music, Jazz, Dixieland and region
al, national and international artists to students, staff and community.
Season tickets may be obtained in the MSC Directorate Office. All students
■who pay student activity fees are admitted at no additional cost.
STUDENT CONFERENCE ON NATIONAL AFFAIRS . . .
better known as SCONA, is held annually in December for student repre-
sensatives from colleges and universities across the nation. Members of
the committee make the many arrangements involved in presenting this
conference.
THE AGGIELAND ORCHESTRA . . .
furnishes the music for stage shows in Guion Hall and G. Rollie White
Coliseum and the numerous dances on the campus and in other Texas Cities.
SINGING CADETS . . .
membership is open to students interested in this type of activity. The
group furnishes music for numerous campus entertainments and programs
and travels to many Texas cities for concerts and shows.
TOWN HALL SERIES . . .
offering an array of nationally famous concerts artists and top-flight en
tertainers at a nominal fee. This year the program includes Ray Conniff
and his Orchestra, National Ballet Theatre, Air Force Band, and other
special attractions. Season tickets will be available at the cashier’s window
in the west end of the MSC.
ORGANIZATIONAL ACTIVITIES . . .
providing banking service and help with the activities of the numerous
athletic, literary, religious, class, military, musical, technical, hometown,
county or school clubs, as well as service with graduate announcements,
organization awards and Aggie records. Also the channel through which
these organizations may make arrangements for dances and other social
functions.
THE MUSIC HALL . . .
located west of Dorm 2 with practice rooms equipped with all the necessary
equipment for recreational music and the more serious music activities.
GUION HALL THEATRE . . .
Operating on weekends offering A&M students good second-run movies
at low cost. Organization and selected films under the sponsorship of the
MSC Film Society.
THE GROVE . . a
provides facilities for outdroor dances, movies, yell practice, picnics and
club parties. Reservations for the Grove and Guion Hall should .be made
through the MSC Social Office.
