Farmers Need Seven Wins
To Tie Last Year’s Record
A year ago Coach Tom Chand
ler’s Aggie baseball team won its
last seven games to take the South

This year the Aggies, racked by
graduation, scholastic and pro
losses, stand at the crossroads.
They need to win seven games to
break even for the year and have
only eight to go.

Sanderson failed to pass, Schap

eligibility and Plumlee grabbed a
large chunk of money to play for
the Los Angeles Dodgers.
. The Aggies currently stand 1-6
in conference play and 5-12 for the
year with but one complete game

pitching has been spotty and the

come through at the plate as they
did a year ago.
A&M hosts TCU in a pair of
loop games here Friday and Satur

road back. The Cadets, after op
ening the SWC with a 19-6 victory
over SMU, have dropped six
straight conference games and lost
two of three practice games in
San Antonio over the Easter holi
days. A&M split with Brooke
Army Medics and dropped a 4-3
decision to St. Mary’s.
Outfielder Byron Barber of Dal

.300 batting mark. All the others
are below that and three are hit

Three pitchers have borne the
brunt of the mound duties. They
are Olen Jordan of Paris, David
Pitcock of Dallas and Don Cost-

game and share nine defeats. In
SWC play Jordan has the lone
win while each has lost two.
